I looked at all these comments and I’m like “wow people are really stupid”
The man hits a woman and everyone’s like “Give him a break its common in Algeria. It’s because he’s Arab. It’s because he’s Muslim”
First of all. Don’t give him a break that ibnil haram (SOB) doesn’t deserve to be in a position where he is representing the Arab world with that kind of temper.
Second of all. He’s an angry soccer player that lost a match. he hit someone. It just so happened it was someone he was already pissed at. Which happened to be a woman. If it had been a man, the man would have gotten his butt kicked too so don’t even start.
Has everyone already forgotten that Zinadine Zidane (a muslim french soccer player) head butted the italian guy for calling his sister a whore. Point A: violent soccer player. Point B: So much for Muslims not respecting women right?
And another thing. the article was bashing FIFA for not doing anything about it. But in this day and age, people hear arab and go well duh they all beat their women. I’m arab and I’ll tell you. If my father wanted to keep his life he would never lay a hand on my mother and I can say the same for other Arabs. So no, I’m not “different than the others, the bad ones”.
And another point. people are stupid to assume that that kind of behavior is accepted in a part of the world that they have no experience with. Just because it was on the news doesn’t mean it’s accurate. After all, hasn’t the media been wrong before. I mean, an Algerian that is completely respectful to women, well — that’s not a good story at all. An angry soccer player from Algeria that hits a woman…”see I told you they’re vicious”.
And finally, she hit him back. But an Arab woman standing up to him, well — that doesn’t go with the other stories too well so lets pretend that never happened.
People need to stop being so primitive and being selective about what in the media they believe and don’t believe. But of course its easier for those neanderthals to align with the media that aligns with their ignorant beliefs (without evidence of course). An aligning with media that portrays good in people. oh wait…that’s not a good story.
